About Us

The Millsite Lake Property Owners Association (MLPOA) was created by concerned property owners in the 1970s to promote those activities that would foster a focused approach to continued lake quality and environmental health.   It also achieves to foster a spirit of community among property owners and friends of the lake.   Since its inception the lake has benefited from the involvement of its members in activities such as water quality sampling, invasive species weed control, regulatory awareness, dissemination of clean water subject material, as well as many social gathering and events. Membership involvement and contributions has resulted in Millsite Lake being one of the cleanest and most desirable lakes in the region for swimming, fishing, boating and other recreational activities.

The association is comprised of its general membership with a Board consisting of officers and directors elected by the membership.  The association is a voluntary organization but membership is encouraged with several levels of membership and annual dues.  There are two general membership meetings each year scheduled in late spring (May) and early fall (Sept).

MLPOA also works closely with the Indian River Lakes Conservancy (IRLC) which is a land trust comprising of the 18 lakes within the Indian River Lakes watershed.
